The programs and activities that the San Francisco-Kraków Sister Cities Association conducts to accomplish its specific purposes include:

  • Organizing educational exhibits and cultural events that promote Polish culture, specifically those related to Krakow, in San Francisco and the greater Bay Area
  • Enhancing cooperation and exchanges between the universities in and around the partner cities, in particular Jagiellonian University (UJ) with the University of California, Berkeley (UCB) and Stanford University     
  • Promoting development in the area of tourism between the City of San Francisco and the City of Kraków
  • Providing support to develop exchanges in the area of science, biotech and medicine between the cities, in particular between the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center (UCSF), the San Francisco Biotech community, and corresponding institutions in Kraków
  • Promoting trade in Advanced Technologies and Information Technology (IT) between Kraków and Silicon Valley and the Bay Area IT community, in particular through business conferences and delegations, and promoting related business exchanges throughout the year
  • Supporting the development of commercial cooperation between the two cities
  • Organizing and promoting joint events to promote San Francisco and Kraków as important cultural centers including classical music concerts, opera, ballet, dance performances, and folk art exchanges
